George Atiga, director
The Asian/Pacific Ministries department works with four local conference coordinators and seven language representatives to support the ministry of hundreds of churches, companies and groups in the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah. Pastors are assigned and supervised by local conference coordinators, in consultation with the union Asian/Pacific director. The Pacific Union Asian/Pacific Ministries department coordinates lay-training, evangelism and other special events among these churches; fosters unity and fellowship; provides mentoring and support for pastoral ministry and administers funding to enhance evangelism efforts as well as financing the printing of materials for their many different language groups.
George Atiga, D.Min, was voted the Director of Asian/Pacific Ministries for the North American Division and Pacific Union Conference in 1980. He began his ministry in 1951 as the regional pastor for 41 area churches in the Philippines. In 1962, he was called to the Voice of Prophecy to work in their Bible Correspondence School. In 1974, he pastored the Central Filipino Church in Los Angeles as well as being the Asian/Pacific Coordinator for the Southern California Conference. Elder Atiga has written and published a series of Bible studies entitled “Salvation Unlimited Gospel Ministries Presents the Teachings of God’s Church.”
He has conducted more than 100 evangelistic crusades with an aggregate baptism of almost 10,000 souls in countries such as Canada, Indonesia, the United States, Russia, the Philippines, and other countries. His wife, Caroline, a registered nurse, accompanies him as health lecturer for his crusades. They have two adult children living in California. Jon is a pediatrician and Schubert, an OB/GYN.
